Why you should watch Firefly. "Every time you support a canceled Fox show, somewhere a network executive loses his wings." Funniest article in ages, watch the new trailer then go read this.

Chris Bridges. A name somewhat familar to Whedonesque posters.

Since when does a network TV executive have wings? Horns on his head, maybe, but not wings. But you have to respect someone who says we should watch "Firefly" because "it has whores and preachers" and "how much Stargate can you watch". I'm convinced
Chris, that was a great review!
Dangerously obsessive. Moi? Never! ;)
Heh, good article.

And with that, my resolve is strengthened to lend out my DVDs to someone who I was kinda on the fence about. I think she'll get into it if she gives it a chance...
Regular television consumption will leave you with the inescapable conclusion that everyone in the world is a moron.

Never a truer word has been spoken. Except all the times somebody said to me ‘you look pretty tonight’.

somewhere a network executive loses his wings

Sadly that just means they are a) now qualified to descent to network president or b) join W&H.

Please note that scenario a and scenario b are not mutually exclusive. In fact some would say there is a sort of Ben and Glory connection.

(general groaning, don’t start that again)

Nice article Chris.
Chris, that was a wonderful talk.
Now beware the animals...
I've already sent that link to several people I have on my 'ones to convert' list - Hmm next will be the emailing of the trailer link.

Great article - especially the comment about regular television - glad I am not the only one who feels that way.
Thanks! I figured my boss would only let me get away with writing about it once, so I wanted to make it count. If you would, please use the link as it'll stay up for much longer. The one posted will get automatically deleted in a while.
The link is changed accordingly.
Really funny, Chris. I can't wait to share this with others.
Of course, it also helped that I loaned the DVD set to my boss a few weeks ago...
Sending the link to everyone I know...great article Chris!
Yeah that was excellent Chris, good work :)
Great article, my favorite was: "It could be the only science-fiction show ever with a Chinese/bluegrass soundtrack.
The lack of this is exactly why "Enterprise" failed."
I figured my boss would only let me get away with writing about it once, so I wanted to make it count.

And you used it wisely. I'll be sending that link along too. I also loved the quote that Embers used, funny stuff!
Great article! I posted it on my non-Whedonesque forum... I know! Can you believe they exist?? ;)

Kudos for the article Mr. Bridges.
You won't feel stupider afterward.

Great review!
Wonderful! One of the funniest pieces on tv or Firefly I've seen in awhile. Kudos to Chris!
Had "24" been handled the same way it would never have made it to "12."

I think that just made my day.
Chris, that was brilliant. A practically perfect piece of propaganda (sorry - was watching Mary Poppins with the chilluns last night) for proselytizing purposes.

Miranda, you look pretty tonight.
Yeah, completely true. Actually, I think the first season of 24 did have one or two hours that weren't constant action and instead brought the story on a little further, so I'm surprised it wasn't aborted in its first season. Perhaps Fox weren't paying attention at the time?

And yes, great article. :)
Chris, that is a splendid others here, I've sent the link to many other people...finally got an old friend to watch (sent him a spare DVD)....had been priming him for a couple of years with choice dialogue...After he watched Serenity Parts 1 and 2 he was so excited he just kept on watching...his email the next morning began, First, the only thing I can say is "thank you."

This article will be very, very helpful in getting people involved...mega kudos to you!
Great job, Chris. I really enjoyed it.

I wish I had anyone at work that I thought I could lend the DVD's to and get more than a blank look in return, much less my boss.

Chris? Will you marry me?
Hey, Which Witch, that was my line!! Great article, Chris, which I also noted on the Serenity board. I really enjoyed it and will be sending the link to a few friends.

Has everyone at Whedonesque sung Chris's "Ballad of Firefly"?
Were I unwed, I would take you in a manly fashion.
Fantastic article, Chris. Gives the word "propaganda" an ebullient, positive aura. May your article convert the uninitiated and the skeptical far and wide.

Speaking of said mission, I will also be sending the link to friends.
:D I just posted it on the two other non-Whedon message boards that I frequent. Great job, Chris, I usually can't begin to describe Firefly to non-fans, and this is unusually helpful.
Were I unwed, I would take you in a manly fashion.

Thanks, Chris. I take that to mean you think I'm pretty :)

Am now linking your article every damn place.
Because I said you're pretty?

Dad was right! That stuff really works!
See? Who said women are complicated creatures?
