Michelle Trachtenberg to feature in On the Razzle in the Williamstown Theatre Festival, August 3-14. Michelle is listed as an ensemble player in the Tom Stoppard play, which is part of the festival that takes place in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts.

Looks like a small role but I've never heard of her doing stage work before so yay Michelle! Play stars Michael Mckean who was David StHubbins in Spinal Tap.

Are we completely sure this is the same MT? As you say, she is listed way down in the "Ensemble" . . .

Actually, I can quite understand a young actor sacrificing glory for the chance to appear with seasoned vets in a Stoppard show. G-d, I love TS - another one of my true heroes. Too bad the performances are, like, next week, and its in Massachusetts. BTW, I've added more details to the subject title.
Perhaps some one who lives in that neck of the woods can verify.
It's her--this link is on her official Web site (michelletrachtenberg.net):

I saw this play in DC way back in 1982...it's hilarious...it would seem a bit odd to have Michelle in simply an ensemble role, as SNT notes...but there you go...it was posted in her "Latest News and Updates" yesterday.
I can't imagine there are two Michelle Trachtenberg's... I know the actors union insists on no two sharing the same name but maybe it doesn't apply to stage work. But taking a minor role for your first play would be realistic.

And thanks for adding more blurb SNT. I always worry about what to put.
Three unions, Actors Equity (for stage) Screen Actors Guild (for film) American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, three chances to have your name already taken by someone else. Of course non-union actors can use any name they like.

My recollection (from the Stone Age) is that the WTF has a good reputation. If she has not done stage work and is doing this to experiment with something new, I say, "More power to her...and break a leg."
I have been to this theater many times over the years. It is very well known. Blythe Danner and Christopher Reeves appeared regularly in the 80s. It's known for its summer stock plays. This is very likely a great way for her to begin to gain theater experience without having to compete for a staring role on Broadway straight off the bat. Now I wish I had bought tickets. These plays usually sell out for summer weekends.
