The Netherlands gets what might be the most exclusive pre-screening yet. August 20th, just forty members of the Browncoats.nl forums will get an exclusive showing of Serenity.

Browncoats from three different countries have already signed up, and I'm among them!

Congratulations on getting signed up. Forgive my stupidity, but does that mean you're definitely in, or are you on a list they choose forty members from? If the latter, good luck!
It's all Dutch to me!
Didn't even know there was a Dutch browncoats forum. (I'm Dutch, but I don't spend much time on the .nl side of the web.) Well, I mailed the address, but I suppose I'm too late.
Caroline, off-topic, but cider's post got me wondering: are expressions like "go Dutch" or "in Dutch with" considered derogatory there? I have no idea what their etymological derivations are. They may even be German, derived from "Deutsch", I suppose. Just curious. Feel free to delete if too far off-topic.
No, they're not considered derogatory. (And most people wouldn't be familiar with them either.)

'Going dutch' etymology

... I got signed up! Yay, seeing Serenity on the 20th. I'm not worthy, really.
Congratulations, Caroline! Have much fun, and of course you're worthy! If you tell them you founded Whedonesque, maybe they'll send a BDH (or two)!
Just for information, this coming Wednesday 20 UK browncoats are going to UIP's head office in London to have a special prescreening - the first mainstream press screening of Serenity, ever (about 60-70 press people). I'll be there, and yes, I will be fishing the press as they come out and reporting back.
Uah... I hope they do something similiar in Sweden, it would be a dream to see it before November 4th...
Djungelurban: bug UIP about it. When UIP screen Serenity to the press, they will likely be under instruction to do it with a group of fans. The same kind of thing has happened with 'Thunderbirds' and the like before (ahem).
It's all Dutch to me!
Ha! Double even.
Congrats Caroline. Your gonna have a ball, that is very shiny indeed.
Also Gossi, how does one get as well connected as you are? Are you doing a bit of a Book on us?? You'll have to tell us about that sometime ;)
A man has gotta have secrets ;)
yup gossi, I just did. I had an address for them before but it was no good anymore so I had to find another one. But it's out there now. They can't force me to wait for 5 weeks in spoiler land, I would perish there. They gotta give me a screening... :)
No... It's "Mmmmm... cookies". :)
Congratulations to the Netherlands for the Serenity screening! But... is anyone else wondering what the hell Universal has against Canada... or, more specifically, eastern Canada? I think there's been screenings in Toronto and Vancouver. Obviously, this is much better than having no screenings at all, but when you're, geographically, the 2nd largest country in the world it makes it a bit difficult. Sigh... nevermind me... I'm just jealous.

Russia is bigger... Just wanted to point that out.

Surely it's "ooo - jaffacakes"
Is it too much for my 'Thank You Joss' donation to be a pack of jaffa cakes?

Oops! Sorry, my mistake... I'll go fix that.
We're lucky here in the Netherlands--we've got an inside man in UIP... or I should say, an inside Browncoat.

And jaynelovesvera, I'm definitively in. :D
About the 'Dutch'-expressions, personally, I just smile and nod. Silly foreigners.

Caroline, welcome to Browncoats.nl!

I'm not sure they'd make the trip to Edinburgh.
Hearty congratulations to all who are going to the pre-screening! I'm looking forward to your posts afterward.
