UIP Announce Advance Screenings in Townsville, Australia. Serenity coming soon to a back water town near you.

OK, I shouldn't be mean. Townsville is a lovely place, and I'm sure UIP are just gauging how to sell this to rural Australia. Which is great; Yay UIP! Go get them tickets you North Queenslanders!

Ouch! '...a back water town near you' - there I was thinking we were a friendly bunch.
Anyway, if there's as little going on in Townsville as you imply, the folk there will be extra glad of a chance to see film that's worth watching more than once. Plus, I'm guessing that word of mouth could be a more valuable commodity in a 'small' community than it might be in Sydney!
'back-water?'

Oooo, you'll pay for that!

(Townsville actually one of the larger cities in Queensland... and is in no way to be considered rural. But eh... semantics.)
Apologies in advance to the Australians.

Saw this headline and immediately wondered why they were showing "Serenity" on "Powerpuff Girls".
Yea, but I was only joking ;)
Also as I lived in Queensland for the larger portion of my life, so therefore...I'm allowed to quip. Townsville is a more rural area, it may be larger than other towns but it's still a coutry town. And hey; that's good, way better for UIP to know how to spread it to the greater areas of Oz. I didn't mean to offend. Really.
I'm friendly...see me...friendly :D

Janeway - what's the Powderpuff connection.
what's the Powderpuff connection

Well, she clearly was referring to the Australian cricket team.

sorry, sorry, sorry, it just was too tempting. Anyhow now you have something to be really mad about instead of fighting amongst yourselves ;)

This will make you laugh: read in the paper today that the biggest complaint of the people stranded in Heathrow for days because of the BA strike was not being able to watch the cricket. Go figure.
You right I did laugh! The silly ppl ;)
Hey remember the love thread? Good times!
Then again, Brisbane's just a rural town with a bigger airport :) I love Queenslanders dearly... I really do! Just any state that refuses to take on daylight savings because it confuses the cows and causes drapes to fade, well... *grin*
Oh I'm with ya there Mort!
Mind you living on the Gold Coast it was always fun to do the New Years countdown twice in the one night.
Townsville is the name of the city that the Powerpuff Girls live in on the cartoon "Powerpuff Girls". Too much pop culture, not enough Australian geography, despite my Aussie roommate.
Well ya learn something new everyday! Thanx Janeway216.
