(SPOILER) Serenity: Two Differing Opinions. Diverse thoughts on the movie over at MillarWorld Magazine (minor plot spoilers).

Two legitimate reviews. The second one, which didn't like it felt that way partially because it wasn't the TV show. He says "A new season of Firefly on television is what the old-school fans really want" I don't feel he approached the movie on its own merits. Maybe it is impossible to do so for those of us who loved the show but it is sad that he couldn't appreciate the movie for what it did do.
I agree with Lioness...the negative review is negative not because the film is bad or poorly executed, but because it's not what the reviewer wanted. Personally, I thought the "answers" provided in the movie were pulled off beautifully, profoundly, even.

Got my Serenity visual companion books this week, and I'm looking forward to seeing Serenity's fully finished version (caught both DC pre-screenings) even more than ever.
Chris, visual companion books ? As in more than one of them? Or was that a typo?

If I wanna be all completionist, I know there's the Serenity magazine (just a one-time thing as far as I can tell, like how they released one for Hellboy and Hulk and the like), the visual companion/script book, the trading cards, the score on CD, and...I think that's about it, aside from the novelization (not sure about that one yet), the action figures (horrible face molds, ugly, so no way--not even the Reaver which is supposed to look ugly), and I already got the Finding Serenity book of essays back in April.
Kris you forgot the Comic Book prequel mini series from Dark Horse, written by Joss and Brett Mathews.
Oh yeah. I've been getting that. The third and final issue'll be out next week I think.
Kris, no typo, I bought 3 copies. One for a present, and 2 for our house, because I knew my wife would want to read it right away (I was right), and I'll give the 2nd copy away to another friend later.
