MillarWorld Magazine Serenity Cover Contest. MillarWorld and Universal are doing a cover artwork contest for the October issue of Millarworld Magazine.

Winner will get "goodies" and their artwork will the cover of issue 4 of the magazine. Deadline for Submissions is September 26th.

I'm fascinated by Universal's approach to the marketing of Serenity. Targeting popular comic book forums such as MillarWorld is just one aspect of selling Serenity to sci-fi genre lovers.

There's even a Serenity contest at Alexander Siddig's official website. You might not recognise the name but you'll definitely recognise the face. He played Dr Julian Bashir on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
I find it fascinating as well, Simon. Someone in their marketing department has obviously been giving this a lot of thought. BTW, I'm very impressed by the way you stay on top of all these online Serenity mentions. How much time a day does it typically require? If that's too personal a question, just ignore it.
I most definitely recognize Sid :) aka Siddig El-Fadil. And anyone watching the new BSG will say, whoa, its eerie how much he looks like Dr, Gaius... (which it is. Eerie, I mean)

I lurk at other places and I'm very lucky to find the right stuff.

And anyone watching the new BSG will say, whoa, its eerie how much he looks like Dr, Gaius...

What we need is a Dr Gaius/Simon Tam/Julian Bashir medical show. Or an epic crossover slash fic ;).
I was kinda' curious of the connection between Alexander Siddig's site and Serenity. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any unless he's just a huge fan as well.

Simon, might as well toss Dr Carter from er into that mix. He could be the Frank Burns of the crew.

HA! I'd watch it :) I will ignore the second sentence of your post ;)

I love it! And we'll call it "Doooooctors in Space!" Somehow we'll have to have Dr. House kidnapped and taken to their ship for at least 3-4 episodes if not all season long.

Or an epic crossover slash fic ;).

Okay, we'll make it "Doctors in Love!"
Don't forget the wonderful Dr. Becket from Stargate in your medicinal epos! (*swoon*) Then I'll watch too.

PS: DR. Bashir a fan? Wouldn't that be cool?
PPS: Maybe just his Webmaster is, but still he must have given permission, right?
Who's Dr. Gaius?

Dr. Gaius Balter, a character on the new BSG, you can read about him and see a photo here
Ah, thanks Paul_Rocks. I haven't checked out BSG yet. Looking forward to getting the first season sometime after I'm done buying Veronica Mars, Lost, and American Gothic.
electricspacegirl, do you have a DVD player that can play region two? If so, send me an e-mail.

American Gothic. Damn, I forgot all about that. Another set to pick up.
Madhatter, no and I can't find a crack for it online. :( The next DVD player I buy WILL be crackable!
Yay for American Gothic, been waiting for that to come out since '95 and I only found out last month that they were finally releasing it.

esg, BSG is definitely worth getting, it's my joint current favourite show with VM and I can't recommend it enough.
No problem, electricspacegirl. Here's ready cracked machines. They're pretty reasonable.

And yeah, BSG is a worthwild show to watch.
