(SPOILER) Serenity novelization goes back for 2nd printing. According to a post made by author Keith R.A. DeCandido on the movie site, the novelization has already gone to a second printing. (Spoiler warning for thread discussion of book - and, therefore, movie).

From the post (reg. req.):

"I'm happy to announce that the Serenity novelization has already gone back for a second printing, and it's only been out a week. The printing is larger than the usual additional print run, too. "

There must have been a ton of pre-orders! That's good news. Amazon shipped mine yesterday.
And yet my local stores can't even find proof that it exists. Frustrating. Next time, I'll just have to take in the ISBN with me.

Holy shit. I haven't even gone out to buy it yet. How much does it take to sell out books? Or maybe they're not printing enough and underestimating the amount of browncoats?
Maybe they only printed, like, 50.. the first time. Considering no one I know has been able to find it and I've searched at about 6 bookstores here.
I had to drive 45 minutes and go to three different book stores before I got mine. But it was worth it, I love krad's novelization and the Visual Companion. Both lovely.
Just want to warn people who are going directly to the link like I did that the first post I started reading has something from the book. I stopped reading it before I was spoiled for anything but it does seem like the book's contents are being discussed.
Yes, having seen the movie I've just checked, the link is to a spoilery thread. Only vaguely so so far but spoilery all the same.
The local Chapters I checked out had 10 copies.

Their computers had no record of the Visual Companion though. Haven't been able to find that yet. Probably just end up ordering it off of Amazon.ca
I got this book on Saturday. I was shopping with my mom and we were next to a Barnes & Noble so I went in and they had lots of them.
Their computers had no record of the Visual Companion though. Haven't been able to find that yet. Probably just end up ordering it off of Amazon.ca

I ordered it off of Amazon.ca a couple of weeks ago and currently they estimate it to be delivered between Oct. 18, 2005 and Nov. 15, 2005. I've been thinking of cancelling the order and ordering it from Amazon.com, because even the delay to ship it to Canada I'll likely to get it in the next week or two instead of the next month or two.
I pre-ordered the novelization and the companion from Amazon as soon as they appeared - got both last week. I found the novelization at a Barnes & Noble last Monday - they got in 10 copies.

However, I tried asking at the local Books-A-Million and Borders and neither had it in their computer systems, leading me to think it's not being carried there even though it appears on the websites for both companies. Weird.

It's also at eReader.com as an eBook.
For the record, several September titles were delayed and messed up at the bindery, so the book shipped late, and it's possible some bookstores didn't get theirs yet because of those delays.

The book had a good-sized print run to start with, so the fact that it's going back to press so fast means that it's exceeded expectations. Which is a good thing. *grin*
Congrat's krad, I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, ordered it from amazon.co.uk
Sounds good Krad!! Hopefully that also means good things for the movie too! Haven't received mine yet either but that's okay because I won't be reading it until after the movie (probably right after I get home from the seeing the movie)!
I can't find this ANYWHERE. And I've checked nine stores.
Interestingly, Amazon.com is listing a 2nd Serenity novel by Keith R. A. DeCandido in July of 2006.

A follow-up novel, taking place after the events of the movie?
