Round 2 of IGN Battle of the Comic-Book Writers Begins! Joss vs. Jeph Loeb!

After easily disposing of J. Scott Campbell 87% to 13% in Round 1, Joss takes on Jeph Loeb in a match that should be a tad closer.

Joss vs. Jeph Loeb?!? *thud*

...Except... Joss is winning! Sweet! I was afraid he'd be crushed. Still, this sucks. Neither of them deserve to be knocked out so quickly.

Side note: Warren Ellis is losing. This is just ... wrong.
Joss. Joss. Joss.

As for Ellis... he's up against Grant Morrison, probably my favorite comic writer ever. Heck yes he's losing.
That is just wrong. Onna a whole bunch of levels. um, though I recognize the genius of Alan Moore and think Neil Gaiman's Sandman a wonderful piece of comic book art, my favorite writer in comics is Ellis. The man cracks me up, uplifts me with his world view and I think his sense of reality is beautiful and effed up.

also, Go! Joss! (I felt a bit guilty voting for him as I've never read a word of Loeb's, and so have no basis for comparison, but it passed quickly.)
I felt that same guilt dottikin, very briefly. But it didn't stop me. It made me hesitate, briefly, while I pondered whether I could vote in a world that I know only from Fray and Serenity (which wasn't a patch on Fray IMHO); but no it didn't stop me!
As for Ellis... he's up against Grant Morrison, probably my favorite comic writer ever. Heck yes he's losing.

But... but... Planetary! ... Global Frequency...

I think his sense of reality is beautiful and effed up.

Absolutely! Plus, god I love his dialogue.

*sigh* I guess it's another case of two guys who really don't deserve to be eliminated so quickly.
I find very odd that Ellis and Morrison are up about against each other. They should really be in the final. I fell in love with Grant's work about 18 years ago with his superhuman epic 'Zenith'. Some of his work can be very hit or miss with me but WE3 is the only comic book that made me cry.

Ellis won me over with Authority and Plantetary and as a result I own most of his back catalogue. Orbiter is such a labour of love, it's deserves to be made into a movie.
This round was much harder for me and I found myself voting for a few of the guys who are losing (including Mr Ellis). I also feel sorry for Jeph Loeb as I'm sure he'd beat Joss if all Joss had done was write the comics he has, didn't stop me voting for Joss of course though :)
They're making me pick between Jeph and Joss? That is too cruel.
