No to Katherine H. I've never seen in her in anything substantial, and a great role with great writing can make a good actor into an electrifying one, but I'm personally pulling for Morena. She may not have the height, but she has the skin tone, the eyes and the acting chops.

And what's up with WW's pose there, in the artwork? She looks like she's so worried that her "suit" will fall off. Guess I'd be worried, too. And what's with the Manga hair?
Can't wait to see Joss' official take on all this. She is going to rock. He'll discard all these foo-foo stupid trappings. I'm sure he'll stay true to the character ideals, as well. Should be muy interesting!

All these rumor women are too short! Let's feel the amazon love and make her at least 6'0!

Harsh, much, TamaraC? And why do you think it's so impossible? Only short or average people have the acting gene?

I have great faith that the right person will be cast. :)

She looks tall, she even convinced me to check out Grey's Anatomy. She can look the part, but something about her voice, doesn't sound too diana-ish for me, but good acting will solve the dilemma.
At least this rumour sound better than one that a brazilian site posted yesterday, about them offering the part for a Brazilian Model, which has no acting skills all, just looks, and were just awful in "Taxi" (yeah, that one with Jimmy Fallon and Queen Latifah, ugh... pain...). The article even had some non-sense about Joss handling her the script. For starters, Joss hadn't started the script yet. And I actually know that Joss would go first for acting, then looks. Well, if some one wants to check that non-sense, click here, I think you can google a translation for english.

Plus, beautiful. The studio may want someone who is tall and can act, but if this theoretical actress is less than gorgeous in the face, she's not going to have a chance. So: beautiful, can act, charismatic AND tall. Frankly, "tall" is the least pressing descriptor on that list. It's the reason why most movies are not gagging to make supermodels into movie stars.
Lucy Lawless about ten years ago, and without the baggage of Xena, would've been perfect. Gina Torres is the only one of the Whedonverse women that physically fits the part to a "T", but acting-wise, I prefer Morena. I can't explain it, but I love the way her eyes come across onscreen.

Regardless, I think she would be the most awesome Wonder Woman, but I think Joss is going to go for a younger actress.

As much as I would love to see a BuffyVerse person in the role, its just not realistic. Amy Acker stars as WW in many a dream when I'm asleep but not on the big screen...its like proposing Nathan take the role of Superman.

But basically, i think (and expect) that WW should be cast outside of the whedonverse stable of actors. I'm sure Joss can find a wonderful unknown. Or i like the Jennifer Connelly suggestion someone had above as well...
it's amazing to me there's so much speculation on this. i'm happy to just wait until there's an official announcement.

That being said, if anyone's checked out the DC Comics Message Boards, there's a bit of an uproar what with Joss having been chosen as the writer/director of Wonder Woman, and a lot of people who aren't familiar with his work are expecting Valley Girl Wondy. I think it'd be best for Joss to steer clear away from his current Whedonverse actresses and find someone outside that circle so those same people who fear Valley Girl Wondy will come and see the movie. I mean, most of us are going to see it regardless of the actress because Joss is doing writing and directing it.

I always thought that Charisma would be a great choice. She looks as good now, as she did back in Buffy S1, and it seems that she only aged a bit, since then. Just check the those pics with her from Veronica Mars, or even her last year stint on "Charmed" (ugh...), shows that she has the body, the stature and enough looks to pull it off. And we know she can act. And she's sort of unknown for the movie world.
But she's already in her mid-30s. As several people already said, they're gonna look for someone way younger for the part. Warner will problem sign the actress for a multiple movie contract. Connely would be great, but she's too old. Lawless, too old. I have another personal favorite which would be, Lauren Graham, but she's also too old.
They'll probably cast someone in the early or mid-20s. It's not like Joss hasn't been known for discovering new faces. Summer's first ever job was her part in Angel, for example. Brandon Routh, who's playing Superman, is 25, and he's supposed to be playing an older Superman. But, if they get to make sequels, he won't have aged too much for the part when they make them. Even Tom Welling is reaching his 30s.
