(SPOILER) Audio review for Serenity from Salt Lake's top newsradio station. A very positive review of Serenity from two Firefly/Serenity virgins.

I would have put it with the review threads but it seems no one is reading those anymore. Also the front page is incorrect, both reviewers gave the movie three and a half stars.

Thanks Yentroc, this was great listening too. I'm glad newbies loved the movie so much.

Ya know, when I took my four roommates to see Serenity this past weekend, even though they didn't altogether "understand" the movie completely (Afterall, there is a lot to suck in... reavers, the Alliance-Independents war, Browncoats, companions, and my personal favorite, "Why are they all talking in Chinese?" and when I explained it to them..."What's 'gorram' mean in Chinese?"), they still really loved the action and great dialogue in the movie. Or as one of my roommates put it, "Everything you'd want in a movie...people shooting each other and people eating each other. And then a joke follows that." They had never heard of Firefly or Serenity before when I took them to see it (I didn't bother to explain the "history" of the movie beforehand, I figure it just makes things more complicated), and still they absolutely loved it.

Of course, the scary part is that their first choice for seeing a movie was Flight Plan becaue of "Jodie Foster", and I had to literally manipulate them into seeing something they'd never even heard of before. But they didn't regret it.
Aww... that just gives me butterflies in my stomach.
Excellent. My favourite quote from the review? "this is what Star Wars should have been." Awesome, so awesome.
Treating this as today's review thread here is the review from Locus, the main SF 'trade' magazine.

Short version - They loved it.
