BTW, that IGN page is so hideously hard to read that I had to disable the style-sheet to read it. Some web designers have no sense... the background should contrast with the text

A few weeks ago they published a very favorable feature from Steven Head, previously a non-Firefly fan. You can read that article (which I believe was orignially linked from here then - which is how I found it in the first place) HERE.
In the write up he asks what, as "Firefly-o-philes", information we would like to embue upon non-fans prior to them seeing Serenity. Of course I wrote him a letter, and was suprised that he chose my long-winded response as one of the ones he posted in his mailbag. But if you venture that far into the site, and you have yet to see the film, beware. He also posted a few replys that did contain spoilers from people who had viewed pre-screenings. This was where one of my best friends (who informed me that I was in the mailbag section) got spoiled before the movie.
After the kurfluffa earlier today, I find it awesome and refreshing that a real online journalist refers to us as "Firefly-o-philes". Seems our theory about the notoriaty of the Browncoats online only reaches certain areas of the web. Interesting indeed.
Movie of the Month. Awesome!

Definitely not. The surprisingly positive reviews alone...(and I mean surprising that so many critics 'got' it.) It's just that before people can like it, they have to see it, and getting them to see it is just very hard considering all the circumstances that work against the film on the surface.
Yeah, I keep going over this list of now-famous, classic movies that were actually bombs when they came out... Citizen Kane, Once Upon a Time in the West, Charlie & the Chocoloate Factory (original), Blade Runner, The Shawshank Redemption, etc.

I'm so very not worried. I heard so many positive comments coming out of the theaters, and I heard only a tiny fraction of the viewers there. It's gonna work.

I love you for your optimism. I just have little faith in whoever the 'mainstream' audience is. It may take them 10 years to realize this is a great movie....
No I am not a pessimist. Am not. I just....worry. I worry a lot.
