Serenity - Best SF Film in Years. Dan Alban of The Record, an independent newspaper at Harvard Law School, says Serenity is also one of the best films of the year, in any genre. Also, a Serenity plug on the UTD newspaper Mercury. Scroll to the bottom for both articles.

Serenity offers hilarious quips, chases, romance, gunfights, fistfights, swordfights, space battles, run-ins with cannibalistic Reavers, and a sophisticated philosophical subtext

Wow! Something for everybody...
I was fortunate enough to see Serenity last night with someone who hadn't seen it or Firefly before. He loved it all - even the subtext! It gave me a fresh appreciation for the movie, which was needed on this, my 7th viewing. Not that I wouldn't have enjoyed it anyway but that was a bonus.
I want the Zombies board game; who'll play it with me?
Here is a review written by a friend of mine in the UK. It raises some theories about what the Alliance wanted a River weapon for. There are big SPOILERS in this review.
Thanks for that review link, e-spacegirl. It's nice to see that someone else thinks the same thing I've thought: .

I disagree with the reviewer's take on River, though. I think that she was being trained as an Operative. Just a hunch on my part.
i disagree that River is being trained as an operative. I think these people like River are being trained to replace operatives. I think if there is a sequel or if it's continued somewhere else, they will have another psychic as the enemy and River and that other psychic will fight.
