How fans fight back. Article in "The Guardian" about fan support for axed TV shows has mentions of the BDM and a nice picture of River to boot.

Today's "Guardian" Guide section has an interesting article about the way bottles of Tabasco and bananas have helped save some TV shows. Nice mention of Serenity
ETA: The River picture appears to be in the hard copy only - the online version has a picture of Serenity herself.

The sci-fi spinoff Serenity, a UK box office No 1 this month, was the product of fevered campaigning that involved fans raising thousands of dollars for ads in the trade press after the original series.


Don't think so.
Moreover, Serenity ain't a "spin off" of Firefly...
Yeah, there are quite a few holes in this one.

Still, any publicity is good publicity. Except the negative kind.

Damn, whoever came up with that phrase wasn't much in the way of thinking.
