Christian Kane finds "Home" on Friday nights. Typically Friday night is the kiss of death for any shows with a verse connection but it looks like Christian Kane's new series may be bucking the trend. CBS took #1 for the night with a sizable win in viewers and key demos, also making it best overall Friday performance since March for the network.

From the futon critic;

"Close to Home" Is First in Viewers and Key Demographics While Posting the Time Period's Best Performance Since May.

CBS's freshman drama CLOSE TO HOME, in a special Friday broadcast, outperformed all of its previous Tuesday episodes in viewers and adults 25-54 and delivered the time period's best performance since last May, according to final Nielsen ratings for Friday, Nov. 11.

CLOSE TO HOME SPECIAL won its 9:00-10:00 PM time period in households (7.8/13), viewers (11.87m), adults 25-54 (4.5/12), adults 18-49 (3.2/10) and adults 18-34 (2.3/08). This is the time period's best delivery in households, viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 since 5/13/05 ("Elvis, by the Presleys").

This episode of CLOSE TO HOME outperformed all Tuesday episodes in households, viewers and adults 25-54 and is the best delivery in adults 18-49 since 10/18/05. CLOSE TO HOME was up +50% in households, +36% in adults 25-54, +28% in adults 18-49 and +44% in adults 18-34 compared to THRESHOLD last week.

Well, that's good news for Christian... the show was pretty much on the bubble... but if a permanent move to Friday's is in store - then there's hope yet.
CBS have swapped Close to Home and Threshold, thinking that Close to Home would do better after Ghost Whisperer and Threshold would do better after the Amazing Race on Tuesdays.

I think it is a smart move and It looks like it's going to work.
