I wonder how many guessed Jessica Simpson. Kaylee's naughty talk featured in "Your 2005 Film Quiz" in the New York Daily News.

22. "For the past year, I ain't had nothing twixt my nethers that didn't run on batteries." (A) Jessica Simpson in "The Dukes of Hazzard" (B) Keira Knightley in "Domino" (C) Jewell Staite in "Serenity" (D) Drea de Matteo in "Assault on Precinct 13"

It's nice to see the mention but it's too bad they quoted her wrong.

they quoted her wrong

Umm, "close but no cigar"?
The only movies I can remember seeing in a theater this year are 'Serenity', 'Junebug' and 'Good Night and Good Luck'.
"Going on a year now, I ain't had nothing twixt my nethers weren't run on batteries." is the line, and is one of my absolute favourite lines of the movie, just behind the exchange: "Wash:It's OK.. I am a leaf on the wind.. Mal: What does that mean?!" :P

The "twixt my nethers" line is my favorite funny quote from Serenity, but my favorite "awww" quote is Mal's First Rule of Flying speach to River at the end. I was so moved the first time I heard that. Now it's my motto.
There was a topic on Fireflyfans.net where some people were complaining that line was too rude. Jewel Staite joined and posted in that topic, bless her, about the line.
Did anyone notice how they misspelled "Jewel" as "Jewell"?

Can you provide a link to that, Gossi?
I think he's refering to this post.
God bless our favourite (hot-ass) mechanic!

I'm still reeling from the fact that someone actually *didn't* like that line. It's such as Joss-thing to say, and God how I love Nathan's delivery of "Oh God! I can't know that!!" :P

*me loves Joss*
And it wasn't till I read the script that I knew what Mal said, because there is such laughter at her line that it drowns out Mal's.
You're right, Lioness. I had to listen really hard, think of what I THOUGHT he was saying and then look it up later. It really is so much more funny if you wait until after Jayne's line to laugh. And the expression on Wash's face? Priceless.
Ha, brownishcoat, I never actually looked at Wash and Zoe during the scene.

I just checked my...*ahem*...totally legal copy...pretty funny, but I imagine if my totally legal copy were more hi-res, I'd find it even funnier.
BTW, how does the BDM hold up when being viewed on a small screen?
Very well, newcj, especially since I'm only watching it on my computer, and the media player only takes up about half of the screen.

Doesn't matter the size of its forum, just the size of its quality...which is very, very huge...
