Fangoria is also reporting the title fully in capitals so I assume that is meant to mean something

Well, if you look at your link, garda39, it seems that Fangoria reports every title in caps. Since "Flightplan" wasn't released as "FLIGHTPLAN," nor "Underworld" as "UNDERWORLD," I'm assuming smg's new movie is "The Return."

Few, if any, movies are released with all-caps titles - except maybe where the title is an acronym. Although I can't think of one - anyone else?

(ETA: Here's one - H.O.T.S., classic teensploitation from the late 70s. Not that I've seen it or anything.)

Since I doubt SMGFAN are using Fangoria as their source I was actually going on the fact that they had it in caps and was only using Fangoria as a confirmation source

Of course maybe SMGFAN have got it wrong but at the moment I'm assuming they are right

And I will note that smgfan itself puts titles in caps, albeit not consistently, even when the official title is not in caps - examples from their page: "THE GRUDGE" and "SOUTHLAND TALES."

Fine, not a big deal, except that reading all-caps is grating.

I think I marginally prefer "The Return" to "Revolver" - mostly because I associate the latter with sublime 60s music.

In the industry, people seem to refer to films in all caps. For example, all the emails I've seen for Serenity called it SERENITY. I've no idea why.

Also - Ultraviolet the Hollywood movie?! Who's seen the series?

I've seen Ultraviolet the series on DVD. Excellent, I thought. At no point in the series is the word 'vampire' used.

I'd tend to agree Caroline.. The images and words on that website don't quite look like the TV series.. (Mind you, I doubt the TV series would translate well as a movie).

Well, I can think of M*A*S*H and S*P*Y*S. Is it safe to mention Donald Sutherland around these parts?

The odd thing about the announcement at smgfan.com is that the Focus Features website still refers to the film as "untitled". Having said that, in my experience smgfan are usually very careful about checking information first, so I'm sure they are correct. I have no particular opinion about the title one way or the other, I just want to see the film.

I find that official sites don't always update right away. I've noticed how trade papers and entertainment sites seem to post news first. Maybe Focus will release an official announcement confirming the title change and release date at some point.

As for SMGfan, I've been told that when they say 'confirmed', it always means that the site received the info from someone official unless, of course, their source is misleading them.

I'm more curious about the reshoots, though.

I've always found SMGfan to be one the most reliable fan sites around, they do a very good job.

Ultraviolet the movie has nothing to do with Ultraviolet the series btw. Which is a shame really, the TV show was ace. It's a shame they never did a second series.

Yeah I was waiting for a 2nd series which sadly never appeared. I guess Jack Davenport was too busy with films and then Coupling.

I think Channel 4 decided not to pay for a 2nd series, from what I recall.. The producers tried to take it to the USA as a result, or something.
