Now witness Illyria as she tries to find a personal touchstone by which she can at least understand the human‹she returns to the remnants of Fred's old life to try and make herself feel guilty over having destroyed Fred's very existence. This first issue features covers from Nicola Scott, Zach Howard, Russell Walks, and Steph Stamb. Covers will be shipped in a 1-to-1 ratio.

Also glad I didn't buckle and consider buying the season 5 scripts from Fox.

It did not appear in April, maybe we'll see it being released in May or June.

I think what happened was that Joss told the writers where not to go, so that he could still write his own stuff. I'm not sure I'd consider these canon, but just that they won't go against what Joss writes.

And yes I'm also severely tired of that particular 'artist' whose work consist of tracing promo shots and being only capable of a basic outline, so that the colorist has to paste in hair photo elements. And if this was the editor's idea: what the $@*&$@ were you thinking?? And get an inker who can do more than one line-thickness okay? Because this really starts to look like one of those cheezy photo-romance pulp mags now.

By the way, are all of these comics going to make it to a trade paperback, cos if they are I wanna save my pennies. I know The Curse and Old Friends will get TPBs, but what of the rest of those described above, and also 'Spike: Old Times'???

Other than that, I do hope the comics'll get better. The first Angel mini wasn't great, after all. But I'll probably buy them regardless. Just can't resist Buffy and/or Angel themed comics. It's a thing. ;-)

Simon The Spangel is much in evidence. Also, the Illyria cover has them snuggling behind her back. Sweet. :0)

Someone with a pretty weird airbrushed forehead, that's for sure ;-).
I know. I miss Fred too. It's as close as I've ever come to actually falling in love with a tv character (a beautifull, slightly odd girl with a degree in physics? Yes, please :-p), but Illyria (after getting over my initial 'you killed Fred!' dislike) was a very, very intriguing character I'd have loved to see more of. I'm glad she's getting a comic (and hope it's any good, but with Peter David as a writer I feel pretty confident), even if it's just a one-shot. But I'm still rooting for a tv-movie.

Maybe it's a distribution thing, you should confirm it with your comic shop.
Mine they import comics through Diamond Comics system, but sometimes something slip out. Like the first Spike OS for example, I couldn't get a copy, which I still plan to do sometime, since I'm a crazy buffyverse comics compleitist. But I already got my copies for the final chapters from Angel's first LS.
Before taking out. If I do not comment in any more thread tomorrow before going to the airport, I'd just like to wish everyone at Whedonesque a Happy New Year. May 2006 be a better year for us.
You know, I'd like to see posts as such appearing in Whedonesque:
"Universal greelights Serenity 2 and 3"
"Joss Whedon named entertainer of the year"
"Buffyverse telemovies on the way"
"Now that Whedon finished his WW script, WW is gonna be.... Morgan Freeman"
"Whedon announces Fray 2 for 2007"
"Whedon announces a new tv project"
Anyone can dream, right? Well Happy New Year for everyone.

In fact, it breaks my heart so much that I wish I had never heard of them because it hurts too much to imagine the possibilities :(
catboy | December 30, 04:26 CET
exoticmushroom (did I just type exoticmushroom?) is right! The first Angel of Old Friends is so much better than the Curse! Looking forward to my next issue. I'm excited about Spike vs. Dracula and the Illyria one shot. Interested to find out who the other one shots will be. It would be interesting to know what Connor, Lorne, and Anne are up to. I loved how Anne popped up in 2 Buffys and 2 Angels. I would like to know what happened to her.
ETA: Anne has an "e"... oops.
