Crooks and Liars, a mostly political blog, pumps up Serenity. John Amato has a sort of mini-review: "Joss Whedon gets major props for making a low budget, Sci-Fi movie that is significantly better than any of the other major releases."

John is, by the way, a HUGE Buffy fan. He often includes humorous Buffy quotes as the topic for "open threads". C&L is probably my favorite political blog, but you probably need to be sitting on correct side of the aisle to feel the same way.
There are a number of bloggers who quote Buffy (or Serenity). Here's another; note the subtitle on his page header.... Abu Aardvark.
There was also this long thread a couple of days ago on Daily Kos

Can I just say - I like the recap of O'Rielly verse Donahue. That was they best clip to start a new year off with.

Oh plus the Serenity mention was nice too.

Oh my yes. I just loved watching Bill O'Lielly getting his nuts handed to him by a real man.
I harp on this point, but I wonder if anyone has ever bothered to count up right vs. left leaning blogs that have supported Firefly/Serenity. My guess is that it's a wash, or there's a slight edge on the conservative/libertarian side. Though there was one communist side that gave "Serenity" a good review. As far as I know, no out and out fascists have supported it. Fortunately, I guess having a happy-loving mixed-race couple kind of rules out any white supremacist support...

Anyhow, "Crooks and Liars" is pretty great looking from my side of the aisle, so I'm definitely more than happy.

Though if they think the same way as some of the militant lesbian groups thought when Tara was murdered, then they would support it on the basis that that was why things happened to Wash the way they did. Serenity as a cautionary tale. ;-)
