Just a warning: I'm reading through the White Room transcript and there's a possible spoiler toward the end. It isn't about the movie, though. Tim Minear may have revealed the purpose of the syringe from the Firefly pilot (the editor of the website adds a note referencing his recent talk at the screenwriting expo). I suppose it's a rumor as I've only read it from second-hand accounts so far, but if it's true, it's huge.

Yeah, that showed up in a report from the screenwiting expo, so I think it is true. We talked about it briefly on another thread earlier in the week when we were discussing canon and the Serenity RPG.

Yeah, Lioness, I also remember that thread that linked to the screenwriting expo report, and what Tim said in that report, although I must not have noticed the mention in the RPG/canon thread this week. (Around the time the screenwriting expo report first appeared, there was a huge debate over what Tim said on fireflyfans.net that led to a flame war over there.) I had wondered if Tim was punking the crowd because it seemed like such an extreme explanation, but reading Morena's comment in the White Room transcript about the possible spoiler (which was "It’s super cool and super disgusting and sad."), now it seems like Tim was totally telling the truth. It would have been a lot to deal with as "official" canon, no doubt.

These were great con reports to read. Big props to the person who did all this transcribing! :-)
