"Joss Whedon is one of the great showrunners in TV". Praise for Joss and David Boreanaz as well in this Q&A with Hart Hanson, the creator of the hit Fox show 'Bones'.

Wow, Hart Hanson seems really intelligent and well-spoken (and not just because he praises Joss and DB ;-) ). I might have to rank him up there with Joss and Rob Thomas as my favorite showrunners (very interesting that he worked on Rob Thomas' "Cupid").

I'm really enjoying Bones and now I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season. I'm relieved that it'll only be at 9pm on Wednesdays for 4 weeks (before moving to 8pm), cause while I have the ability to record 3 shows at once (Veronica Mars, Lost, Bones), it would be a pain. In the meantime, I hope they get a big boost from Idol.
Wow, a top exec at 20th Century, Dana Walden suggested David Boreanaz for the role. That's impressive. I know Walden was one fo the main targets for the postcard campaign to save "Angel," so maybe we should send Walden a little hint that James Marsters would be good for a new project too, perhaps a Spike movie or even a role in a new show.
He has to do a lot of good to make up for what he sees as the evil he's done in the world.

Am I the only one feeling some deja vu here? ;-)

This interview really gave some interesting details about working in Hollywood. I can't believe the description he gave of his day. 7:30 till midnight, and having to keep up your creativity throughout the entire day? *shakes head* That's amazing! He also had such nice things to say about 20th Century Fox; that was pretty interesting to read.

Mr. Hanson seems like he's an old friend. He watched Buffy and Angel steadily, he hired DB, he had that Firefly joke earlier in the season, he loves Joss, he worked for Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars *rocks*), and he's from Edmonton, Canada. One of us, one of us, one of us! ;-)
I gave up on the show after the pilot but maybe i'm going to give it another chance. The guy seems intelligent and what he says about the show sounds pretty good.

Yeah - I picked up on the whole 'redemption' thing in the pilot episode. In fact Booth and Bones have a conversation towards the end of the episode about the fact that he is trying to solve murder cases in order to make up for all the people he killed when he was a sniper.
Good interesting read.
Cider, I felt the same way after the first couple of episodes... but the show did pick up and found its rhythm. I now look forward to it.

Indeed, Billz!! Also, good to see the Canadian hollywood invasion is going strong ;)
I've watched Bones hit-or-miss, and seen some improvement since the pilot, but I'll be unable to catch it during the month it's up against Lost and VM. Happily, knowing it's got a full season commitment, I can feel OK about that because when it moves to 8 p.m. I'll jump back in for the rest of the year and then catch the ones I missed (hopefully) as reruns.

It's nice, too, reading that DB has a good reputation in the industry. With a solid work ethic and ever-growing list of jobs that will keep leading to higher profile projects, he's going to do better and better for himself, and just might wind up as a leading man in feature films one of these days after all.
I think I remember DB's father (Philly weatherman Dave Roberts) telling the great story that when he visited the set when Angel was launching, a crew member said to DB "You better be good, cause I wanna work." Echoing what Wiseblood said, it is great to see DB succeed and be respected in the industry.

Oh I'll keep on watching - if only to get my weekly DB fix :-)
