Love Monkey on CBS includes 2 Buffy alums. Christopher Wiehl, Owen from 'Never Kill a Boy On The First Date' BtVS S1 and Ivana Milicevic, Riley's wife Sam from 'As You Were' BtVS S6.

My second attempt at posting. Hope I got it right this time...and that no one else did first :)

I watched this show and liked it a lot. I didn't recognize the 2 Buffy alum but I'll keep an eye out now in case they are recurring characters.
The dude I recognized, though I'd have been hard pressed to do so if it wasn't pointed out to me.

The girl looks so different I never would have realized. I don't know if it's the lighting on those pictures, the make-up or what but I'd have been clueless.
Her voice tipped me off that it might be 'Sam' and then I started noticing that unique sort of masculine femininity and the tomboy-ish mannerisms and was sure. I like Tom Cavanaugh, the title's fun, i'm into the premise, and I enjoyed the hour - the show seems to have promise. Thus, I'm planning not to get too attached...

ETA: Thanks, holymother. Well done, you. :)

I hadn't picked up on the connections, but I recognize them now.

I liked the episode ok, but I loved the end bit, on the elevator. The way he claims immunity to "Grant's Law", the way she makes her way onto the elevator (all sexy and cute), and the way his face says, sans dialogue, "I'm screwed". =)
I have a gihugic crush on Tom Cavanaugh, so I watched it. Noticed that 'our little Owen' had *ahem* - grown up quite nicely, but didn't notice Sam at all.

Very often, the lead character is the most boring, only interesting when orbited by little satellites of quirky friends. Not the case here. Tom was indeed the best thing about the show. And jam2, I agree with you about his expressive face. I love his cute-yet-hangdog expressions. They convey so much, "sans dialogue". Good point.
True, true, Willowy. On both counts. It's why I really enjoyed Cavanaugh's Ed when I could remember to watch it. Delightful and outstanding supporting cast supporting, well, a delightful lead. Hope Love Monkey gets a chance to stretch it's legs. (It's tail? Peel its banana? Okay, I'll stop.)
I do really like Tom Cavanaugh and it looks like its something I can watch after House, that is, if House were on the other night instead of that gawd awful American Idol. Grr Arrg.
Completely forgot to watch this, but wanted to. Will be torrenting it and then setting up the DVR to catch it. Thanks for the reminder!

barest_smidgen - monkeys are awesome.
It's true, zeitgeist. They are. And still - i love you more than monkeys. Go figure.
I posted, People responded! I feel warm. I bask in the glow that is Whedonesque.
Tuesdays at 10 are all about Boston Legal for me, but I switched during commercials and recognized Owen, never saw Riley's wife, though.
barest_smidgen - then I win!

/cheers @ holymother!
Recognized them both instantly as Buffy alums, but had to go to imdb.com to actually place them.

This was a fantastic show! Much like Ed but takes itself a little more seriously, which works for the subject matter.

Thanks for posting this, holymother! I wondered if someone would.
I really liked this show and recognized Owen right away. Well I did read this thread before I watched it but still...

Owen reminded me a little of DB a couple of times.

But I thought that Sam was Gabby all the way through until the end and then I thought she might be Julie.

Which was she?
