Carlos Jacott joins new Aaron Sorkin show. Carlos is notable for being one of the few actors to appear in Buffy, Angel and Firefly. Sorkin's new show "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" will air on NBC this autumn.

Relevant bio from The Buffy Trivia Guide:

Carlos Jacott, who played the demon masquerading as a human (Ken) in Anne, previously played an agent in Being John Malkovich. He has been in She’s All That (with Sarah’s husband Freddie Prinze Jr), The Last Days of Disco, Grosse Point Blank, and he played Ramon the Pool Guy in Seinfeld. Carlos played Lawrence Dobson in Joss Whedon’s Firefly, and Richard in the Angel episode ‘Batchelor Party’. He is one of five actors to appear in all three of Joss’s TV shows.

New Sorkin show (woo!), good set of actors, forumer Buffy, Angel and Firefly alum, nice setting. I'm there! :-)
Slightly off topic but is anyone else having problems getting the information to come up at the Buffy Trivia Guide? The homepage is working fine but i'm not getting much else from anywhere else on the site.
Great news. I am so excited about this show too. Why? Because Aaron Sorkin is a simply wonderful writer. A genius.

I can think of only one other writer on his level: his name is Josh something...I forget.

I seem to remember that Joss said that West Wing and Sports Night were amongst his favourite ever shows.

Vampire With A Gun I had problems earlier but hitting refresh seems to work.
I had the same issue VWAG

Ah, Carlos.
Joss' impression of Carlos Jacott on the commentary for the Firefly pilot (*that* Serenity, not the Movie) was hi-larious! Dobson was in the comic book, too, so, does that make Carlos even more special than the others who were on all 3 series? ;-)

BTW, Amanda Peet, Zach Braff and Jason Bateman are in a movie together? The idea *rocks* more than I can say; I only hope the movie lives up to the awesomeness of the cast! ;-)
I can't wait for Sorkin's new show.
This is just another reason to watch this show. I'm really looking forward to it.
Very cool, looking forward to it! Do you think Sorkin will give it a laugh track? Of the very few episodes of Sports Night I've seen, I don't remember a laugh track. Was there one? Keeping my fingers crossed for NO LAUGH TRACK! Seems like a good cast. MP was by far the funniest Friend when the writing was good.

bilz, I'm with you. The three of them in a movie together? Amazing. I've been a fan of Peet since Jack and Jill. Cute show. Many of you cringed, I heard you!!!!
Yes there was a laugh track for Sports Night, I think it may have been for the first season. It didn't really suit the show at all.
Sports Night started with a limited laugh track, which was gradually phased out before the end of the first season (I think the network wanted it, but eventually gave in to Sorkin's wishes.). I'm sure the new show won't have one.
In additon, Carlos played Otis in the 1995 film Kicking and Screaming, which is one of those random movies all my friends and I can do line by line. It came out the year we graduated college and was all about the paralysis of that particular experience and served as a sort of anthem for us. Ever since, we've all tracked Carlos' career (as well as that of writer/director Noah Baumbach--recently nominated for an Oscar!). So, while I'm not a Sorkin fan (I know, so sue me!), I'm terribly happy for my Carlos.
Joss must hate the guy, he met especialy grisly deaths in two of the shows!
Hey, Ken, wanna see my impression of Gandhi?
Boy, was that a bad impression ;).
Can't WAIT for the new show! I've beens eriously yearning for some Sorkin TV, since I wrapped up season four of The West Wing. Such a great cast, and a great premise (somewhat similar to Sports Night, which I also love).
Good to see the love for Sports Night on this board -- consider this an emphatic "me too!" It's really nice to see Felicity Huffman finally getting all these awards that she should have gotten for Sports Night. I'm also jonesing for my weekly Sorkin fix, so rudely interrupted at the end of TWW Season 4.... BTW, his writing/directing partner, Tommy Schlamme, is also involved in the new show, which makes me very happy. Always good to work with a director who "gets" you.
Yes, I remember reading that Joss loves Aaron Sorkin. And since you mentioned Sports Night, Josh Charles (formerly of Sports Night) is in a new play called "The Well-Appointed Room" right now at Steppenwolf Theater in Chicago. It has been getting very good reviews. I can't wait to see it.
