Poseidon Adventure Comes to The UK. Adam Baldwin's four part series of Poseidon Adventure comes to UK channel SKY One next Wednesday.

I will certainly be watching, can't get enough of our Adam. Just hope it is better than the soon to be in cinema's remake Poseidon.

I'm sorry....... ;-p
I hate to burst your bubble, but this version is bad beyond words. Not Adam's fault. Even Kurt Russell, the star of the theatrical remake, couldn't have saved this cheap quickie.
Is it even worth watching for Adam?
Hm, I can't watch it anyway because I don't have SKY One. Not that many people do, that I know of.
I think it's part of the basic package and Sky has around 8.1 million subscribers so maybe more than you might think ;).

Not sure if i'll check this out anyway (even for AB) since I wasn't exactly thinking 'If they'd just remake The Poseidon Adventure I could die happy'.

Now, 'Towering Inferno' is a different matter. But let's make it funner and less dark. Maybe Jim Carrey as the fire chief and Will Farrell as the architect. Instead of fire we could have the building gradually filling with marshmallows (hey, they're pretty dangerous if you're diabetic).
Anyone who has cable or satellite gets Sky One - it is part of both basic packages, as far as I am aware. Maybe it's not on Freeview (which is the other way of getting digital channels, without paying subscription charges, for any non-UKers out there): I wouldn't know. But that's still a lot of people. Including me.

So - is it really that awful, and not even worth catching for Adam?
Sky is well on it's way to getting 10 million subscribers (that is their target), and cable viewers (who all get Sky One) hovers about 7 million - so it's a sizable chunk of the UK who have it.

'Back in the day' every Whedon fan I knew had Sky - for Buffy and Angel.

Here's a question - is it laughably awful? I loves me some poor movies to analyse.

By the way, Summer Glau's "Mammoth" has been moved to April 1st (I kid not) in the US.

I watched in the U.S. only because of Adam, and yeah, it was pretty bad. Adam Baldwin and Rutger Hauer (remember Ladyhawke?) were the best things about it, but they couldn't make it good. Steve Gutenberg was painful at times, but many of his lines were terribly written, too, so... I don't regret watching, but I was working a puzzle as I watched. I'd recommend a co-activity such as that :)
gilesno1fan and gossi, old friend, no, it's not even laughably bad. It's was just made as quick and cheap exploitation of the big scren remake. The CGI generated Poseidon might give you a giggle or two, but in the end it's all about the story, dialogue and performances. There are no challenges offered up to Adam, or anyone else in the cast, so he does the best he can with very little.
Go to the Internet Movie Data Base and check its' score from average viewers like ourselves (Wait a minute! We're Joss fans. We're way above the curve when it comes to average.). The voters give it a 3.5 overall, which is awful (I gave it a 3, myself.)
Watch it only if you feel you must.
