Nice to know someone has discovered quality pleasure from using a search engine. But seriously, what about Google Maps? Part of the fun is looking up phrases like "Hotels near Albuquerque" Or "Pizza places in Mongolia" or "Tiananmen Square was really right over there? I thought the place where the guy got run over by that tank was a little bit east of...", but I digress. Anyway, I can't wait to see Wonder Woman flying in an invisible plane myself. Seeing princess Diana pilot that thing is totally going to put "Top Gun" to shame.

All right, so...the Spike movie must be about Spike's quest to unlock the mystery of dodecahedrons, the third act twist of Wonder Woman must involve a sublime combination of cooking class and water sports, How I Met Your Mother must center around the love of a good woman, and, as anyone knows, cheese and ferns go together like peas and carrots.

I'm still not feeling it on How I Met... but I just discovered Corner Gas, a Canadian sitcom which has strangely drawn me in. It is gonna be a sitcom summer fer shur.

Just got the R4 Serenity release this weekend. Took a while to get to Colorado from Aus. Very cool extras including the "Green Clan" piece. However, my favorite part of the R4 disk set was the Q&A piece and Joss' answer about who he would take on a desert island:

Joss, the solution is simple: start cloning yourself. Don't worry about how that worked out in that Michael Keaton movie. That was SO not based on real science! Actual clonage (Not to confuse with Maximum Clonage!!) will result in more work getting done in less time so saturate us greedy bastards.

Ah, Joss, as ever, gives us the good news. Lots of stuff going on. I'm still totally with the man on HIMYM. How can one not love that show? "Don't be a hero, Sherbotsky!", indeed!

The 40 year old virgin? Really? Wow. That didn't even make my 'have to see this' list. But who knows, maybe now I will. I'm easily impressioned.

Wonder Woman and Goners, still very high on my 'yep, I'm looking forward to those!' list. I still don't much care which gets here first (although Goners might be a bigger hit is Joss gets mainstream name recognition from WW). And Violet. Loving the name. Here's me sending mental waves to cast Summer as one of these characters. You know it makes sense.

Spike movie. Still waiting for it to happen along with everyone else, but with all the other fun stuff going on, I guess I'm still fine for now. And, Buffy and Serenity comics? I'm so there.

Serenity sequel = sadness. Ah well. Moving on.

Hope you resolve the third act issue with Wonder Woman...see, my script, it's the second act that's getting me. I kind of want to skip all of the character development and interaction and go straight for the battle-riffic climax. Damn integrity. :'(

A character named Violet...oh, I get it. Goners is the sequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, in which evil mutated blueberry Violet wreaks revenge upon Wonka and all those who wronged her...thus making them "goners."

Jeez, don't be so easy to figure out. :-P

By the by, Joss, I've been wondering...do you watch Lost at all?

And don't worry about lack of a Serenity sequel. I mean, they just canceled Arrested Development. Obviously, stuff that studios ignore is high-quality!

Simon my guess would be in this case cause you can look up all kinds of info with google, and not fear the government finding out what you are searching for unlike other search engines, it spoils you because you don't have to go hunting through musty old books like Giles did to look up information. I wasn't all that into How I Met Your Mother, then I saw the wedding episode with Victoria the cake-maker and my sentimental little heart just fell for it. Haven't been able to catch an episode since then, tho. Totally unrelated, but Love Monkey is doing it for me too. ;)

Edit: And 5 minutes later I read that LM has been shelved. Sometimes I hate TV. Really wish I like proceedurals. . . and that I could spell, that just doesn't look right.

Let's see. In no particular order...

1. Thanks for the update Joss. Great thing to wake up to on a Monday morning after spending yesterday shoveling snow and then nursing a sore back.

2. First words I associate with Violet = shrinking, shy. Would be an interesting choice for a Whedon hero...even if her name is really Mia. ;-)

3. Spike movie, keep on plugging Joss. We are right there with you, in a spread out all over the world kind of way.

4. I still think Serenity just needs time to percolate through various layers of audience types. We just need patience. Ommmmm

5. I had the same thought as Caroline about Amazon. Awake now.

6. I happened across HIMYM in the middle of an episode last week and it really did nothing much for me. I know I should make it a point to watch the whole episodes, but remembering to turn on the TV just for that at 8:30 when I should just keep it off so my son is not distracted from his homework, does not seem worth it.

7. This guy Jack Green seems like quite a guy. He has many admirable admirerers.

I'll pile on with the HIMYM love. I've watched from the very first episode, even though I despise laugh-tracked half-hour sitcoms. But this one's got heart -- reminds me of Sports Night, which had a laugh track until Sorkin could convince them to drop it. Of course, shortly thereafter it was cancelled, so perhaps I shouldn't compare. Every episode of HIMYM makes me laugh out loud. It actually is one of the shows I most look forward to every week.

I totally understand the cheese thing...

My weekly MSN group that watches an episode together every Tuesday nite, typically chooses a good reason to drink. Every time we've watched Restless, whenever the "cheese guy" show's up we DRINK! (for those who don't enjoy their Joss drunk, I highly recommend it)

So I can only assume (best guess)Joss has had these nightmares about the Cheese Guy for real. You know the guy I'm talking about...its that crazy, out-of-place, Sherlock Holmes looking guy from Restless. He's all, "Here's some American Cheese Singles" and Joss is all, "Dude, I don't want your cheese..." and it pretty much goes like that all the time until he sees the cheese as actually flirting with him.

We need to get him some psychiatric help (or a wheel of cheddar)stat!

We should have Ashwaryia Rai as a long lost friend(companion) of Inara, Hrithrik Roshan as the hunky and deadly assassin sent by the gov't after Mal this time, and the "Big B" Amitabh Bachan, as the main villian, perhaps a minister from the Parliment? And then when a fight is about to occur, the guns are dropped and a big dance sequence occurs! With 20 beautiful ladies and 20 beautiful guys dancing in the background.
Joss has experience writing musicals, no reason the production can't be done in Bollywood, and the market is much bigger!! So many brown people around the world would watch it, in addition to the browncoats! (See its like destined to happen or something... kismet one might say...)

It's funny you should mention cheese. This weekend a friend was heating up some cheese (the kind you dip chips into) and upon removing it from the microwave he put his finger in the cheese, burned himself causing him to drop the bowl. When it hit the floor cheese and bits of bowl went everywhere which caused me to remark, "Holy hell it's like CSI: Wisconsin in here."

First Serenity magically appears in my mailbox (6 days from Aussieland is pretty good I think) and then, after watching it all and rejoicing at all the wonders that it features (Joss commentary is the sweetest), I go online and find a status update from the man himself. Especially nice with a Goners update, it seems like the kid siblings project and I don't want it to become forgotten.

And speaking of obsessions, Goners fascinates me although I know next to nothing about its particulars. With all the theories and speculation fueling discussion about it despite the lack of any actual visual references upon which to base them, it's almost got a conceptual art-vibe at this point (less all the boring art-criticism jargon). Mind you, I'm more of an ab-ex/fauvist/symbolist lover myself, so I can't wait for something more, um, concrete. I think.

From Mia to Violet, now that's intriguing. I loves me some spec'in! Violet is a beautiful, ambiguous (and my favorite) color. Tradition has it linked to both royalty and mourning. As the superheroine of the spectrum -- able to leap across the chasm from red to blue that bridges the unseen -- it's mystically associated with the third eye and an insight that goes beyond vision. Physiologically, it's also the highest frequency of visible light that ~~most~~ humans can see. Other things can see beyond violet, however, into the realm of the invisible. Will they be in Goners too? Hmmm.

First of all.... What a great post from Joss! Great way to pick up my Monday after a not-so-great start. And I'm all about that cheese flirtation.

Secondly... There was this interesting tidbit in Kristin's chat transcript from today. I don't want to give it its own thread because it's really not anything that new from what she's said before, and I agree with those who find her quite unreliable. If the mods think it deserves a post, go ahead and put it up. Otherwise, i thought this was as good a thread as any to put it in, since Joss himself talks about the quietness of his Serenity phone.

Well they re-did the godfather... and it wasn't too bad.... but the music was horrible(over doing the suspense killing the anticiaption that kind of thing). And when I say having a sequel of Serenity I mean, Joss having control, directing, writing it, that sort of thing. If Serenity falls in the hands of the directors in Bollywood, I would make them fall on swords and then I would fall on a sword.
And....as mentioned earlier it is way cheaper to do this in Bollywood, and hey, it could be the same cast, same ship same director, except that the secondary characters and extras are all South Asian. And who says the story can't take place on planets where the South Asians are the predominant people. Its like a whole other planet to shoot it in India. Well for Westerners at least :P.

Woah woah woah, I thought the movie Asoka put to paid once and for all any rumours of screen chemistry between Shah Rukh and Kareena Kapoor -- though she admittedly has the glamour quotient for a Companion. And mayhap Amrita Rao is a better bet for Kaylee? Good calls on the male cast though (though it could be a toss-up between Abhishek Bachchan and Abraham for Jayne)!

However, the very depths of my being are repulsed at the idea of a Bollywoodian Serenity, so perish the thought!

Woah, girls and boys calm down now. I think the Western world isn't ready for the likes of Serenity - Indian Style! although I'm sure many of the original cast members would jump at the chance for a musical number and we know Jossy boy ain't no stranger to zany song and dance shows (Anyone remember OMWF?) However, Joss if you get desperate one day and you're looking for work (which i know will never happen - but anyway), then you can call on me to be the ever faithful Indian companion of Serenity.
