Mal's Coat is Back on EBay. This came in via e-mail from the Mile High Browncoats...

It's already been asked whether Operation: Browncoat would bid again. Well, the $8,000+ we collected has already been donated to Equality Now (yay!). Plus that amount wasn't enough the first time, I don't know that it would be this time. Plus Nathan asked at Flanvention to not spend our money on him. So there won't be OpBC II.

For anyone with some spare cash thinking about bidding on it, it went for over $12k last time.
OOOOOOOOOOOoooohhhhh, I would so love to own that coat... If it were mine, I would..er, um never mind.
It's kind of too bad, but I guess kind of inevitable, too, that the coat had originally been won by someone whose intention was to turn around and try to profit from it instead of enjoying it. But, I guess that's the only kind of person who has $12k to spend on a coat! *shrugs*

Good luck to the next high bidder; hope a Browncoat gets the browncoat! ;-)
Just to clarify, this is NOT the same coat that was auctioned off before. That one is still in the hands of the very happy browncoat who won it. (No, it's not me - I only wish!)

This is one of the other two originals, which were sold to someone else before the first one went up for auction. I guess they saw what the first one went for and couldn't resist the temptation.

Personally, I would rather bid on one of the authentic browncoat replicas that Shawna Trpcic and Jonathan Logan are auctioning off, and have enough money left over to also buy Inara's Ballgown and a giant plasma TV on which to watch my Firefly and Serenity DVDs.

But then again, I may be biased. :^)

Ohhh so this is not the same person. Yeah I was thinking that, the person who apparently bought the previous browncoat was supposed to be a genuine fan. Glad to see I was wrong and the fan is still enjoying the browncoat.
Yes, same here as kurya; thanks for clearing it up, Mr. Hill! Sorry to have misunderstood, and this makes me very happy that the last auction did go to a Browncoat who loves the 'Verse and the coat! :-)
