Variety reports that 'How I Met Your Mother' is renewed. Alyson Hannigan's sitcom will go to a third season. In related Whedonverse alum news, Variety also says that Supernatural and Smallville got picked up as well. And according to The Hollywood Reporter, Veronica Mars "won't be coming back".
