A Buffy essay by Zoe Williams originally published back in 2002. Clive James (perhaps the world's greatest ever tv critic) describes it
as "one of the best things about popular culture I had ever seen". With Buffy season 8 almost upon us (and indeed the 10th anniversary of the show), Zoe's essay is an useful reminder of why we fell in love with the show in the first place.
