During my nine years engaged in various fan communities and involved in fandom activities and campaigns, I founded Can't Stop the Serenity, helped launch a fan support effort for striking writers, coordinated the "Evil League of Evil" video applications contest for the Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog DVD, and had photographs selected by Titan Books for inclusion in their Firefly and Dr. Horrible companion volumes.
More generally, I co-organized one of the first online petition campaigns against Internet censorship, ran one of Portland's first Internet cafes, conducted a much-lauded experiment in stand-alone journalism, coordinated popular social media campaigns for entertainment properties which didn't have their own, and leveraged a photography hobby into my work appearing in or being used by The Portland Mercury, The Progressive, Portland Opera, Atomic Arts, Titan Books, Newsarama, Nerdist, and The Guild.
